Why Traditions Meat Co?
The farmland in our country being controlled mostly by "factory" farms are depleting the top soil at an alarming rate. Some estimate 50-100 years of harvests left because of soil erosion. Our mission is supporting American independent farms who are sustainable or better. When we say sustainable we mean using farming practices that provide food but do not compromise the abillity of future generations.
With American independent farmers on a steady decline it is more important now than ever to support them. The total number of farms in America are down but the size of each farm is increasing. This means less small farms and more factory farms. Leading to a centralized food system that would be detrimental to quality food supply.
